Why the product cards have no photographs
Product photographs belong to the merchant and may only be used through the channels the merchant sanctions — the Product Advertising API, or a link builder. Copying or hotlinking them from the merchant's CDN is prohibited by the Associates Operating Agreement, so where a product has no licensed image its card carries a drawn category glyph instead. A generic stock photograph on a card for a specific model would imply that photograph shows that product, which would not be true.
